Who is even behind this website? Discover who I am and my ambitions with graphic design in Montreal!
Who am I?
Welcome to my website, where I showcase my portfolio in graphics and share my thoughts as blog posts. As you could’ve probably guessed, my name is Christopher, and I’m the one and only person behind this site! As of writing, I’m an 18 year old student studying to become a graphic and web designer at John-Abbott college. I’ve always been interested in illustrating and visual designs. During my high school years, I improved my designing skills and made multiple design projects for fun. One day, I decided that I wanted to make a living from my work, and the rest is history!
Where am I in Montreal?
I currently live in West Island, Montreal, and I go places using public transportation. I wish to discover the world and make the most of my life later on. However, I want to find a comfortable place to live near the water in Montreal. I’ve been to the states multiple times too, specifically in Minnesota. I’ve been thinking of expanding my future business to other countries in North America.
What do I do as a Graphic Designer?
As mentioned previously, I’m aiming to become a graphic that’s learning multiple skills to further diversify my work. Although, a specific job I’ve been considering was to become a concept artist & designer for a studio.
What are my plans for the future?
I’m currently in my second semester and plan on graduating in a year and a half (so technically in 2028). Once I’m done with college, I plan on going to university while casually freelancing as a source of income (on a brand new site, stay tuned for that). After university, I’ll look for a good job with a stable income with my degree.
Why did I choose to be a graphic designer?
My dad once told me: “the best job is doing something you actively enjoy”. I want to become a graphic designer because I’m passionate, I’m very skilled and I’m confident of the path I’m taking. I’ve been told multiple times that I’ve been gifted with good designing skills and I’m convinced that success is guaranteed if I work smarter: those two reasons have reinforced that I’ve personally made the right choice. I do admit, it’s a risky path to take, especially with the rise of AI, but at least I’m happy with what I’ll do.
Why should you work with me?
My biggest motto when it comes to graphic design is to make almost every visual authentic while providing fast results. Nowadays, businesses prioritize results the most, and with the rise of AI, they can easily achieve that without paying a person. However, AI isn’t able to provide any artistic value as regular people, since it’s backed up by a prompt rather than actual intentions or meaning. As a graphic designer, I aim to provide more rational and creative results in a decently short amount of time, more thoughtful than something an AI would generate. I’m studying to become a professional, problem-solving, creative, and fast-working designer in order to provide my clients nothing but the best.
